Fan's View: How Is Former Giants Prospect Zack Wheeler Doing in the Minors?

03 May 2012

During the 2011 regular season, the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets made a trade right before the deadline. I am obviously talking about the very deal that saw slugger Carlos Beltran and pitching prospect Zack Wheeler switch organizations. We all know that Beltran was not enough for the 2010 World Series champions to reach the postseason again.

Who Will Pitch the New York Mets' First No-Hitter? Fan's View

03 May 2012

After two no-hitters were thrown in the majors in less than two weeks, I'm still anxiously waiting for the New York Mets to tally one of their own. The franchise has completed thousands of games dating back to 1962 without notching a single no-hit performance. Gary Gentry, Tom Seaver, John Matlack, David Cone and a slew of other Mets pitchers in history pitched dazzling one-hitters, but no one was able to shut an opposing team's offense down completely.

New York Mets Properly Honor Jose Reyes … By Beating His New Team

25 April 2012

That the New York Mets planned to honor shortstop Jose Reyes when he made his return to Citi Field as a member of the Miami Marlins Tuesday is no surprise. That they honored their fans by beating Miami 2-1, however, seems much more appropriate, if you ask me

Jose Reyes Gets Rude Welcome Back to Citi Field: Fan's View

25 April 2012

Jose Reyes getting booed by New York Mets fans in his return to Citi Field on Apr. 24 was the result of a perfect storm of cold weather, the game being played on a Tuesday evening and the fact that Ruben Tejada is performing well. Chillier-than-normal temperatures for a late-April evening kept most casual fans out of the ballpark when Reyes' video tribute aired on the big screen at Citi Field a few minutes before gametime, and his return on a Tuesday night meant that the majority of the fans on hand were college-age and older

Will Jason Bay Get His Starting Job Back when He Returns from the Disabled List? Fan's View

25 April 2012

New York Mets left fielder Jason Bay, who is hitting just .240 in 15 games this season, was placed on the disabled list after suffering a non-displaced fracture of a rib on his left side while attempting a full-extension catch of a ball hit by Gregor Blanco in the second game of the Mets' doubleheader against the San Francisco Giants on Apr. 23. Bay, who has badly struggled with the Mets since joining the team in 2010, said his ribs were sore and he wasn't breathing normally
